Abstract
In a disk driving apparatus in which a disk cartridge having therein an information recording medium and a clutch on a part of the disk cartridge is inserted for reproducing or recording information on the information recording medium, the apparatus includes: a clutch provided on a part of the disk driving apparatus for engaging with the clutch on the disk cartridge to rotate the information recording medium; a moving member for interlocking with an inserting operation of the disk cartridge to move; an elastic displacement member for accumulating elastic energy caused by movement of the moving member; and a clutch engagement member for engaging the clutch on the disk cartridge with the clutch on the disk driving apparatus by the elastic displacement member in which the elastic energy is accumulated.
