Abstract
A computer system on which a plurality of operating systems are mounted, comprises: a memory device, which has a memory area that is logically divided to obtain a plurality of operating system memory areas 102 and 103, each of which respectively corresponds to one of the operating systems, and an independent memory area 104 that does not correspond to any of the operating systems; interface means, which is employed by the operating system, for issuing an instruction for changing the current operating system; suspend control means; resume control means; and operating system switching means, for receiving from the interface means an instruction to switch operating systems, and for, when an operating system for which a switching instruction has been issued is suspended, resuming the use of a different operating system that is designated in the instruction.
