Abstract
A method of treating skin including the application of a treatment gas to a surface of the skin and simultaneous neuro-muscular stimulation of the skin. The increased blood flow resulting from the neuro-muscular stimulation improves the effectiveness of the treatment gas. The treatment gas applicator used to deliver the oxygen to the wound may further be used to provide repeatable measurements of the size of the wound over time. Other beneficial skin effects, such as hair growth and age retardation, may be achieved by applying treatment gas simultaneously with neuro-muscular stimulation.
