Abstract
Couplers for hair coloring compositions for oxidative dyeing of hair are compounds of the formula (1): 1 wherein X is Cl, Br, I, or R.sup.4 SO.sub.4; R.sub.3 is a C.sub.1 to C.sub.22 alkyl group or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.22 mono or dihydroxyalkyl group; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are each independently a C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl group; and R.sup.4 a C.sub.1 to C.sub.22 alkyl group or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.22 mono or dihydroxyalkyl group.
