Abstract
The present invention relates generally to a multi-component absorbent core composite for an absorbent article, and more particularly to a multi-component absorbent core composite comprising at least two absorbent core units having different properties, whereby at least one of the absorbent core units includes a mixture of tow fibers and superabsorbent polymer (SAP) particles. The at least two absorbent core units are associated and arranged with one another to form the multi-component absorbent core composite. Such core composites provide the flexibility of creating precise zoning of particular properties throughout the core, provide improved comfort and fit, and provide less costly means of using expensive core ingredients
