An objective of the present invention is to provide a method for testing for an allergic disease and a method of screening for a therapeutic agent for allergic diseases. MAL was identified as a gene the expression level of which is significantly increased in T cells contained in the peripheral blood monocyte (PBMC) upon stimulation thereof with a mite allergen in vitro. The present inventors found that this gene can be used in testing for allergic diseases and in screening for agents and compounds useful in the treatment of allergic diseases.
