Abstract
The invention provides a method for treating leukemia in a patient. The method comprises administering to the patient a substance that increases expression of folate receptor .beta. on leukemia cells in the patient, called a FR-.beta. inducer, and administering a folate-conjugated therapeutic that targets the leukemia cells in the patient. The invention also comprises pharmaceutical compositions containing one or both of a FR-.beta. inducer and a folate-conjugated therapeutic. The invention also provides a kit for use in treating leukemia in a patient, the kit comprising an FR-.beta. inducer and a folate-conjugated therapeutic
