An absorbent article includes a topsheet, a backsheet and an intermediate layer between the topsheet and the backsheet. At least one of the topsheet, backsheet, and intermediate layer is a three-dimensional vacuum formed film with a male side void volume of at least 350 cc/m.sup.2 and a first minute decrease in temperature of at least 8.degree. F. on a Third Insult Test.
