Abstract
The invention relates to ratjadone derivatives which can stop the cell cycle of tumour cells in the G1 phase and/or exhibit a reduced cytotoxicity as ratjadone. According to the invention, the ratjadone derivatives correspond to formula (II) wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected independently from each other from the group which is made of H, CH.sub.3 and C.sub.2H.sub.5, R.sub.4 is CH.sub.3 or C.sub.2H.sub.5, R.sub.5 is H or OH and R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are selected independently from each other from the group which is made of H, CH.sub.3, C.sub.2H.sub.5, n-C.sub.3H.sub.7, and iso C.sub.3H.sub.7, and wherein C.sub.10 is R-configured and C.sub.17 is R-configured if (a) C.sub.16 is R-configured and simultaneously (b) neither R.sub.5, nor R.sub.6, nor R.sub.7 are H. The invention also relates to a method for synthesizing ratjadone derivatives.
