Abstract
The present invention is directed to a transportation security system for monitoring at least one freight shipping container being transported by at least one cargo transport vehicle. The system includes a container locking seal configured to be removably coupled to the at least one freight shipping container to thereby seal the at least one freight shipping container when in a coupled position. The container locking seal includes at least one anti-tamper sensor and a seal communications device. A state recorder is disposed in the at least one cargo transport vehicle. The state recorder includes a recorder communications system being configured to communicate with the seal communications device. The state recorder also includes a data storage module configured to store sensor data.
