Abstract
Steroidal antiandrogens and pharmaceutical compositions thereof, are used for reduction of the risk of developing, or for treatment of, androgen-dependent skin related diseases. In preferred embodiments, the antiandrogen EM-3180 is used for reduction of the risk of developing, or the treatment, of acne, seborrhea, hirsutism or androgenic alopecia: 1 Methods of treatment utilize the antiandrogen alone, or in combination with other active ingredients such as an inhibitor of a 5.alpha.-reductase, an inhibitor of type 5 17.beta.-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase, and/or an inhibitor of prostate short-chain dehydrogenase/reductase.
