Abstract
The present invention provides a balloon catheter in which the balloon is a thin film and can be compactly folded up when the balloon is deflated, while the thin film has high strength so that the balloon has excellent pressure resistance when inflated, and which is safe and easy to manipulate, and also provides a method for manufacturing a balloon for use in the balloon catheter. A method for manufacturing a balloon for use in a balloon catheter, wherein a thin film of a high-strength resin is formed by deposition polymerization or coating over a balloon mold formed from a water-soluble polymer resin, after which the balloon mold is removed.
