Abstract

A resealable packaging bag should be produced in the simplest way and at minimal cost. It consists of flexible material and has an opening (5) at the top. Non-detachably fixed on one side of the bag is a backing (6), and detachably fixed to the backing (6) is a section (10) of a flexible material provided with a self-adhesive layer. A portion of the backing (6) and a portion of the section (10) project beyond the opening edge (14) of the bag. To close the bag, a portion (8) of the backing (6) is peeled off, and the now exposed portion of the section (10) is placed over the opening (5) and is stuck onto the opposite side (2). Used for opening and resealing is the detachably adhering portion of the section (10) which is on the portion (9) of the backing (6) remaining on the bag. The advantages are in particular that the bag can be produced from any desired material including paper and that the backing with the self-adhesive section can be a commercially obtainable self-adhesive label.
