Abstract
The present invention relates to a peptide of Formula I, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof: X--P Formula I wherein: P is a DPPIV peptide metabolite of regulatory peptides obtained by cleavage of the two N-terminal amino acids; and X is defined by Formula II: 1 wherein: A is selected from the group consisting of C.sub.1-C.sub.10 alkylene, C.sub.2-C.sub.10 alkenylene, C.sub.2-C.sub.10 alkynylene, C.sub.1-C.sub.10 heteroalkylene, C.sub.2-C.sub.10 heteroalkenylene, C.sub.2-C.sub.10 heteroalkynylene and phenyl; and B is selected from the group consisting of aryl, substituted aryl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl and C.sub.3-C.sub.7 cycloalkyl.
