Abstract
An adjustable locking mechanism including a lock cylinder, a housing, a spindle and a locking pawl configured to rotate with the spindle between lock and unlocked positions. The lock cylinder and spindle are configured to rotate the locking pawl between an unlocked or otherwise disengaged position and a locked or otherwise engaged position and to permit continued rotation of the lock cylinder and spindle after the locking pawl is in the locked or otherwise engaged position to cause the spindle to rotate relative to the locking pawl.
