Abstract
A cellular communicating device (10). The device comprises means (22.sub.1) for communicating bi-directional data to and from a cellular transceiver station along a bi -directional channel (30.sub.S). The device also comprises means (22.sub.2) for receiving SPS information. The device also comprises means (22.sub.3) for receiving broadcast Doppler information from a source other than the bi-directional channel and an SPS system. Lastly, the device also comprises means (24) for determining a location fix of the electronic device in response to the SPS information and the broadcast Doppler information.
