Abstract
A method and system are provided for coordinating lifecycle state changes of system components. Each component maintains lifecycle-state information about its current lifecycle state and provides this information to a state-dissemination arrangement. The state-dissemination arrangement disseminates lifecycle state information to interested components such that all components receiving a particular item of lifecycle-state information can, within a defined time, rely on all interested components having received the information. Components use this lifecycle-state information in determining whether to change their lifecycle state.
