An endoprosthesis, in particular an intraluminal endoprosthesis such as a stent, includes a carrier structure, which includes at least one component containing a magnesium alloy of the following composition:

    Magnesium: between about 60.0 and about 88.0% by weightRare earth metals: between about 2.0 and about 30.0% by weightYttrium: between about 2.0% and about 20.0% by weightZirconium: between about 0.5% and about 5.0% by weightBalance: between 0 and about 10.0% by weightwherein the alloy components add up to 100% by weight.
