Abstract
The invention relates to a bone screw having a longitudinal axis and a threaded shaft which has an external thread of an external diameter D.sub.A, a front thread end and a thread profile. The thread profile has a front thread flank that is oriented towards the front thread end. The front thread flank comprises a flank section that has a 90.degree. offset in relation to the front thread flank, thereby forming a tangential cutting edge on the front thread end.
