Abstract
A article (10) formed at least partially from at least one metal sheet incorporates at least one lockseam (20) that interconnects adjacent edge margins (18 and 19) of the sheet 17. The lockseam (20) includes a region where the edges overlap and wherein at least one of the edge margins has a coating (23) applied to it that is disposed in the overlap and forms a gasket to provide a watertight at the lockseam. A method of forming the lockseam is also disclosed.
