Abstract
An object of the present invention is to provide antidepressants or foods and drinks for antidepression. To solve the present problem, the present invention provides antidepressants or foods and drinks for antidepression comprising, as an active ingredient, a compound represented by formula (I): (wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, which may be the same or different, each represent a hydrogen atom, substituted or unsubstituted lower alkyl, or the like; R.sup.5 represents a hydrogen atom, hydroxy, or the like; R.sup.6 represents a hydrogen atom, or the like; R.sup.7 represents a hydrogen atom or substituted or unsubstituted lower alkyl; and R.sup.8, R.sup.9, R.sup.10 and R.sup.11, which may be the same or different, each represent a hydrogen atom or substituted or unsubstituted lower alkyl) or a salt thereof.
