Abstract

Compositions and methods for treating multiple sclerosis are disclosed herein. Embodiments of the present invention include methods of treating a multiple sclerosis patient via the administration of a therapeutically effective amount of a composition comprising a compound of the formula: wherein, R.sub.1 is heteroalkyl, heterocycloalkyl, or heteroaryl; R.sub.2, R.sub.4 and R.sub.6 are independently hydrogen, halogen, nitro, amino, hydroxy, C.sub.1-C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.1-C.sub.6 heteroalkyl, heterocycloalkyl or aryl; R.sub.3, R.sub.5, and R.sub.7 are independently hydrogen or C.sub.1-C.sub.6 alkyl, or R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 taken together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a phenyl ring, or R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 taken together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a phenyl ring, or R.sub.5 and R.sub.7 taken together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached form a phenyl ring; and n.sub.1 and n.sub.2 are independently 0, 1 or 2; or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, a prodrug, or a mixture thereof.
