Abstract

The invention relates to an improved handwritten-data-processing device and installation, which provide a certified data back-up with links. According to the invention, the data processing device comprises processing means (10) which are designed to address instructions to a display device (6), such as a PDA, said instructions requiring the display of at least one part of the primary handwritten data which is captured by recognition means (5) after being entered by a user in one zone (4) of a support (3). The aforementioned processing means (10) are also designed to associate (i) a timestamp, which represents the moment of data entry or association, and (ii) an identifier, which represents the zone (4), with the primary data and with the processing operators and/or secondary data which, at the user's command, are associated using interaction means (8) with at least some of the primary data displayed by the display device (6). Finally, when primary or secondary data designating external data which are stored, for example, in a database (9), are activated by the interaction means (8), the above-mentioned processing means (10) are designed to access said database such that the external data can be displayed by the display device (6).
