Abstract

The present invention refers to dyestuffs of the formula (I) wherein A is carbon linked moieties especially chromophores; Y is N or C X.sup.1 is halogen or tertiary ammonium, especially pyridinium; L.sup.1 is a carbon based linking unit, optionally interrupted by O-atoms or optionally substituted N-atoms, especially ethylene or propylene R.sup.0, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are independently hydrogen, C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl groups optionally substituted, or R.sup.2 is a group of the general formula (a*), or R.sup.3 independently is a group of the general formula (b*): (a*), (b*) wherein A.sup.1 and A.sup.2 have one of the meanings of A. Y.sup.1 and Y.sup.2 have independently one of the meanings of Y X.sup.2 and X.sup.3 have independently one of the meanings of X.sup.1, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 alkyl optionally substituted. L.sup.2 and L.sup.3 are carbon based linking units, optionally interrupted by O-atoms or optionally substituted N-atoms, especially ethylene or propylene. R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be linked together such as to form a cyclic structure together with --N-L.sup.1-N.sup.+. If R.sup.2 is a group of formula (a*) or (b*) then R.sup.1 and R.sup.3 may be linked together such as to form a cyclic structure with --N-L.sup.1-N.sup.+, or R.sup.6 and R.sup.3 may be linked together such as to form a cyclic structure with --N.sup.+-L.sup.3-N--, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.3 may be linked together such as to form a cyclic structure with --N.sup.+-L.sup.2-N--, but not simultaneously, processes for the preparation of said dyesstuffs and their use for dyeing and printing hydroxy- and/or carboxamido-containing fiber materials.
