Apparatus for determining indications helping the diagnosis of rheumatic diseases comprising at least a section for detecting and acquiring signals from a body under examination or a part thereof wherein the detection section is a unit for detecting images by nuclear magnetic resonance. In said apparatus there is further integrated a section for processing acquired images as regards image data and/or resonance signals, which processing section from image data and/or resonance signals, determines values of one or more different numerical parameters indicating the presence or absence of a rheumatic disease and/or a measure of the evolution condition of said rheumatic disease.
