Abstract
The invention provides a hot-working die steel for die-casting obtainable by quenching a steel comprising, in terms of % by mass, C: 0.1 to 0.3%, Si: 0.1 to 1.5%, Mn: 0.3 to 2%, Cr: 6 to 12%, P: 0.05% or less, S: 0.01% or less, Mo: 1 to 3%, V: 0.5 to 1.5%, s-Al: 0.005 to 0.025%, N: 0.005 to 0.025%, and O: 0.005% or less, with the remainder being Fe and inevitable impurities, followed by tempering the steel at a temperature of 500.degree. C. or lower.
