Abstract

The system and method features continuous, high-temperature, short-time thermal processing of biological materials, including protein, that is suitable for large scale production at rapid flow rates. The thermal processing can include rapid temperature increases and rapid cooling. The thermal processing can be used to reduce or eliminate contaminants, such as viruses and bacteria, from biological materials such as protein solutions.
