Abstract
A process for manufacturing a leadfree lead terminal for capacitor, in which whisker generation can be avoided. There is provided a process for manufacturing a lead terminal for capacitor, comprising bringing metal wire (1) furnished with metal plating layer (2) composed mainly of tin into abuttal on aluminum wire (5) and carrying out arc welding between the metal wire (1) and the aluminum wire (5), wherein portion (9) devoid of the metal plating layer is formed at one end of the metal wire (1), the one end of the metal wire (1) is brought into abuttal on one end of the aluminum wire (5) and thereafter arc welding is carried out therebetween.
