Abstract
harmonic, to compensate for at least a portion of the time delay of the fourth harmonic relative to the fundamental wavelength caused by 4HG generation. In one embodiment, this is achieved by introducing a time delay of the fundamental relative to the second harmonic wavelength, such as preferably by means of a timing compensator in the optical paths of the second harmonic and the fundamental wavelength. Preferably, any further delay of the fourth harmonic relative to the fundamental wavelength caused by other optical components can also be compensated for in this manner.
