Abstract
A method for processing signals includes scrambling at a receiver, a plurality of composite signals to generate a first plurality of channel signals. The plurality of composite signals may include a corresponding plurality of orthogonal sequences. The method may further include combining at the receiver, the generated first plurality of channel signals to generate a second plurality of channel signals. The scrambling of the plurality of composite signals may be based on a corresponding plurality of scrambling sequences. The first plurality of channel signals may correspond to a plurality of receive antennas. Each of the first plurality of channel signals may be spread utilizing a corresponding one of the plurality of orthogonal sequences. At least one scrambling sequence may be overlayed onto the spread first plurality of channel signals to form the generated set of first plurality of channel signals.
