Abstract
A method of cutting a glass strip, the method including the steps of feeding the strip along a straight path; detecting the travelling speed of the strip; and scoring and breaking the strip transversely on the basis of a travelling speed corrected by automatically multiplying the detected travelling speed by a correction factor; the correction factor being determined by determining, a given time after the scoring operation, the actual position of the score line along the path, and determining the difference between the actual position of the score line, and a theoretical position in which the score line would be located when the travelling speed of the strip equals the detected travelling speed.
