Abstract
A payload includes one or more antennas for receiving polarized radiofrequency signals; a device for regenerating radiofrequency signals by filtering, frequency transposition, and amplification; and antennas for transmitting the regenerated radiofrequency signals to one or more terrestrial terminals. The regeneration device includes a plurality of regeneration channels, each channel including an amplification device capable of amplifying a plurality of radiofrequency signals having separate frequency bands, and in that the transmission antennas are capable of transmitting regenerated radiofrequency signals, via a single regeneration channel, to non-contiguous basic coverage areas, respectively, the basic coverage areas belonging to a single cellular layout that uses at least two separate frequency bands and two separate polarizations.
