Abstract
Disclosed are systems and apparatus for controlling water flows into and/or out of a bath, shower or other similar bathroom fixture. A water mixing system for a bathroom fixture includes a conduit having a hot water inlet, a cold water inlet, and an outlet, as well as a flow controller for controlling the flow rates of water entering the conduit through the hot and cold water inlets, a temperature sensor downstream of the flow controller and upstream of the outlet, and a system controller which receives a signal from the temperature sensor and controls the flow controller in order to adjust the flow rates of hot and cold water in use, so the combined water flows have a required temperature at the outlet, wherein the hot water inlet and cold water inlet are provided with solenoid operated shut-off valves which are normally closed.
