The present invention pertains to Cimiracemate A and related compounds that are useful as inhibitors of 5-lipoxygenase (5-1. OX) activity and various proinflammatory mediators such as lipoxins, leukotrienes (e.g., LTA4, LTB4, LTC4, LTD4, and LTE4), prostaglandins, and thromboxanes.
