Abstract
According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a device for treating sleep disordered breathing comprising a device body designed for positioning within a pharyngeal lumen and being designed and configured for maintaining an open airway during involuntary closure of the pharyngeal lumen. According to further features in preferred embodiments of the invention described below, the involuntary closure of the pharyngeal lumen is caused by collapse of airway tissue during sleep.
