Abstract
The present invention relates to a system for allocating unused radio frequency spectrum channels with the TV White space frequency band. A spectrum manager is arranged to allocate available white space channels to requesting wireless access point devices. When more than two devices request channels, the spectrum manager determines any mutual interference that may be caused by those devices and allocates channels so as to minimise mutual interference. Where there are more requesting devices than available channels, the spectrum manager is arranged to auction the channels until the demand is equal to the available channels.
