Abstract
Test strips for the detection of at least one analyte in a sample are shown and described. In one embodiment, the test strip includes a test zone, a control zone and a surface reflectance profile to monitor the test strip continuously until the presence or absence of an analyte is detected. In other embodiments, a lateral flow assay includes a surface reflectance profile to monitor the test strip prior to the detection. The surface reflectance profile may include at least one flow reference area and/or at least one test result reference area. The result is systems and methods to improve the detection of the presence and/or absence of at least one analyte in a sample.
