The invention relates to a radio device, comprising:

    a communication unit, which is configured to communicate with an allocated access-cell node of an access cell of a cellular radio access network;a transmission scheduling unit, which is configured to initiate transmissions of application data between the radio device and the access-cell node in accordance with a predetermined application transmission schedule defining at least one allowed transmission time span, in terms of a week, a day or a time of day for the transmission of the application data, to select a point in time for initiating the transmission of the application data within the respective current allowed transmission time span in dependence on a traffic condition to be fulfilled.
