Abstract
A set of an ink and a pretreatment liquid includes a white-based ink composition containing a white-based color material and a pretreatment liquid containing a flocculant, in which the white-based color material consists of second particles which have an average particle size from 200 nm to 1 μm and which are formed by aggregating a plurality of first particles having an average particle size of less than 200 nm, in which the flocculant flocculates the second particles, and in which the white-based ink composition is preferably adhered onto a region of a recording medium onto which the pretreatment liquid is imparted so that the white-based color material is 0.1 mg/cm2 or more.
