Abstract
The present invention provides herein a polynucleotide sequence encoding the tubby-like protein, CaTLP1, from chickpea (Cicer arientium L.) that is responsive to abiotic stress and is involved in plant growth and development. Further, the recombinant DNA construct and recombinant vector comprising the polynucleotide sequence encoding CaTLP1, host cell comprising the recombinant vector and a process for producing a transgenic plant that expresses the CaTLP1 protein are also provided herein.
