Abstract
An economic performance forecasting system includes computer storage configured to store payment card transaction records. A computer processor is configured to access the computer storage and determine from the stored payment card transaction records a total (TToDate) of transaction amounts for transaction records having a transaction date and a process date during a current period as of a current date. The processor determines from the stored payment card transaction records a total (PToDate) of transaction amounts for transaction records having a transaction date in prior period and having a process date equal to or earlier than a prior date. The computer processor determines a relationship between TToDate and PToDate.
