Abstract

The tyre-changing machine includes:

a bed for resting on the ground;a spindle extending from the bed and for mounting thereon a wheel having a rim and a tyre with a first flank and a second flank, the spindle configured to tighten the rim thereon so as to fix an imaginary axis of rotation of the wheel, with the first flank arranged in a distal position with respect to the bed and the second flank in a proximal position with respect to the bed; and a demounting tool having a non-rolling contact surface for contacting and pushing the second flank in a direction away from the bed until extracting the first flank from the rim, the spindle and the demounting tool being reciprocally movable along a direction substantially parallel to the axis with a stroke extending between two ends, to push the tyre out of the rim during the stroke.
