Abstract
The present invention relates generally to communication and more specifically to techniques for power control in a wireless communication network. More particularly the present invention relates to method for controlling the radio output power in a mobile entity comprising a transmitter and a receiver for communicating with a radio base station over a communication channel, comprising receiving a message comprising an indication of a target transmit power from a base station, estimating a transmit power of said transmitter based on the received target transmit power and the actual conditions of the communication channel and adjusting (403) the transmit power of the radio transceiver in accordance with the estimation. The invention also relates to a mobile entity or a computer program comprising means for performing the method.
