A method for producing a composition of diesters of 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol, characterised in that it includes a step including the esterification of 1,4:3,6-dianhydrohexitol by a composition of carboxylic acids, the composition of carboxylic acids including: at least an acid having formula C7H15COOH (X) and an acid having formula C9H19COOH (Y), the mass ratio (X)/(Y) varying between 10/90 à 90/10; at least one acid having a formula different from (X) and (Y), selected from among hexanoic acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, oleic acid or linoleic acid.
