Abstract
According to embodiments, smart devices and methods of controlling the same are disclosed. The smart device can include a touch panel; a display panel disposed on or under the touch panel; a touch integrated circuit (IC) configured to sense electrical signals from the touch panel; and an application processor configured to operate an application program according to the electrical signals. When a gesture is input onto the touch panel while the display panel is maintained in an OFF state, the smart device executes an event corresponding to an input gesture, wherein while the even is executed, the OFF state of the display panel is maintained.
