Abstract
Embodiments of the invention relate to synchronizing multicast route entries in a system. One embodiment includes forwarding a communication packet to a first switch and determining a multicast source route entry by the first switch based on the communication packet. The communication packet is forwarded from the first switch to a second switch. The multicast source route entry is determined by the second switch based on the forwarded communication packet.
