Abstract
An entertainment system includes a video display unit (VDU) that receives hover location information and a touch selection signal from a remote controller. The hover location information indicates a location of the user movable object while adjacent to but not contacting the remote controller. The touch selection signal indicates when the user movable object is contacting the remote controller. The VDU displays user selectable indicia spaced apart on a display device, and displays an object tracking indicia that is moved proportional to changes identified in the hover location information over time. The VDU identifies one user selectable indicia as being touch selected by the user responsive to receipt of the touch selection signal while the object tracking indicia is positioned within a touch selection region associated with the user selectable indicia, and controls an operation of the VDU based on program code associated with the user selectable indicia.
