Abstract
An intaglio printing machine provided with a plate cylinder (14), a wiping roller (19), an impression cylinder (13), and ink devices (17) for directly or indirectly supplying ink (I) from ink fountain devices (25) to the plate cylinder (14), and in which the ink devices (17) are provided with an ink fountain device (25) equipped with: an ink fountain roller (26); an ink-fountain-roller driving motor (42); an ink fountain (30) for storing ink (I); an ink fountain key (33), which is supported on the front end of the ink fountain (30) so as to move freely and is for adjusting the gap (G) between the ink fountain (30) and the ink fountain roller (26); and an ink-fountain-key adjusting motor (43) for adjusting amount of movement of the ink fountain key (33). The intaglio printing machine is provided with a control device (40) for controlling the ink-fountain-key adjusting motor (43) and ink-fountain-roller driving motor (42) so that prior to printing on a sheet (W), the ink fountain key (33) is closed and the ink fountain roller (26) is rotated.
