The invention relates to a process for isolating and/or characterising biomolecules and/or biomolecule fragments, in particular proteins and/or protein fragments, comprising the steps: provision of an immobilized compound IC through the interaction of a capture compound CC and the target compound T and a carrier compound CCB, carrying out a division step, in which a cleavable function F is cleaved, and a division compound DC is produced, and isolation and/or characterisation of said division compound DC.
