Abstract

The invention provides a gaming machine comprising a display for displaying a game comprising game symbols arranged into an array of predetermined game positions. A plurality of character symbols are offered for selection by the player. The selected character symbols appearing in the game are accumulated by the player and the player is awarded a bonus prize based on the number of said accumulated character symbols. Alternatively, the player selects from a plurality of characters that are associated with a range of multiplier values. A game controller selects a multiplier value from said range of multiplier values associated with the selected character and the player is awarded a bonus prize calculated from the selected multiplier value. Related gaming machines and methods are also provided.
